Hi, friends! Ever felt like you’re a little bit all over the place? I’ve really felt that recently – between working with current clients and their projects, new client consultations, and managing all the aspects of my own business, it feels like I need more than 24 hours in a day. As a small business owner, who is trying to keep a handle on her costs and time, I’ve found three free tools that have helped me manage it all, and boost my productivity, and hope that they can help you, too!
3 Free tools that I use for my business & how they boost my productivity
- Google Workspace
This is my number one most-used tool! I house practically everything in my Google Workspace account. My email is hosted by Gmail, analytical spreadsheets, lead tracking, client questionnaires, client folders, and more are all available to me at a moment’s notice. I love that I can put everything in one spot and be able to access it at any time on the go. I especially love using the Google Drive app, so that I can look for documents and files while I am out and about.I also manage my time within Google Calendar. I input deadlines, to-do lists, meetings, and more – basically, my life revolves around my Google Calendar. I like blocking off set times on my calendar to tackle certain tasks or work on specific projects/clients. This makes me put my nose to the grindstone ensuring that I am maximizing the allotted time. I also put my personal life stuff in the calendar too, so that each week/month I have an overview of what to expect.
Buffer is my social media management platform of choice. I’ve tried and worked in all sorts of social media management platforms and I’ve found that Buffer is the most user-friendly and cost-effective (they offer various plans and pricing for whatever fits your needs), not only for myself but also for my clients. Buffer allows me to schedule and post my social media content in advance, saving me so much time in the long run! I would rather sit down to schedule my content for the week or month at a time, rather than try to source and write content on the fly. Bonus! They are working on becoming an Instagram Partner which allows direct posting to Instagram!
Wow, has this been a game changer! I presently use the free version (they offer different plans and pricing) and it is very similar to working in Quickbooks. I haven’t mastered everything yet, but the ease of use and customization has been phenomenal. You can connect your bank account(s) to your profile, which allows you to keep an eye on your cash flow and balances. I love being able to send invoices, accept payment, and create accounting reports in one spot!
